Starting Fresh

Nothing is the same!  My silly little world got flipped on it's head but, guys, get this...I'm starting to get used to being upside down.

I've got a new place with a new kitchen and a new bike route to work.  I've got a crazy new landlady (who I love!) and a new morning routine and a new neighbourhood and basically a totally new outlook on everything.  I'm embracing it all.  I mean, what else can I do?  As the mega-babe Whitney Houston sang on her comeback appearance on Oprah, "I crashed down and I tumbled, but I did not crumble."  Pretty much sums it up.  I didn't know my own goddamn strength.

I also didn't know how many people loved me and would be there for me.  The list is long and beautiful and I'm so thankful for all the advice, late night conversations, time taken off work, expert hair-cutting skills, epic walks, flowers, shared tears, g-chat rants, support, strength, love, respect...it's endless.

I'm grateful for it all.  Even the hard stuff.

End of Winter Flowers

Spring is around the corner but it's just not quite here yet!  I'm just as impatient as the next person and have been blowing the budget (not really) on a few bouquets of tulips every week!  It's a little way to bring a little spring a little closer.

Cooking up some dinner times with my pal Amy.   She likes flowers too and fancies refreshing her bunches on Fridays--in support for alliteration, obviously.

Rule #76- Place a Bouquet of Flowers on the Table and Everything Will Taste Twice as Good.

This photo shows my homemade shelf in the kitchen above the sink for cacti, succulents, bitters and other special treasures.

Cacti

A few weeks ago, I went to see some goddamn plants.  Coming in from a wintery cityscape, I felt like I was on another planet.  Something from Star Trek.  Do these things exist in real life or are they some kind of mutation?  My S.A.D brain was blown.  I imagine if we each have our own heaven, this would be my Grandma Fern's.
